This a really great light and elegant Sicilian red, which is grown in a ditch below the surface so that the hot air blows over the vines and it does not burn the grapes.

What distinguishes Cerasuolo di Vittoria from straight forward Nero D'Avola is the addition of Frappato. If you're looking for a different type of Italian wine experience this is the one.

Brilliant wine with heaps of lovely black cherries, blackberries and plums.
Cerasuolo di Vittoria is in fact the first Sicilian wine to be designated DOCG.
Tasting Notes/Products Information
Cerasuolo di Vttoria is a red wine which is produced in a large area around Ragusa and in part in the provinces of Caltanissetta and Catania. It exhibites notes of red cherries and earth on the nose. Medium weight with great acidity on the palate. Made from the Frappato grapes and Nero d’Avola. Simply fantastic!
