thought this would be young so in a Burgundy glass it went for some air treatment. Did not reveal much after a couple of hours. Some vague red fruits maybe. Soft tannins or any? Sweet cranberry type fruit, med body. Insipid, characterless. Short finish. Very expensive at the full price and at any price, I would not buy it again. My Ruth also did not like it; nose screwed up at first impressions. Not faulty. On second night, probably worse if anything so 3/4 bottle down the sink.

This is an elegant and pure wine; the perfect partner for robust fish dishes, white meats and pork. It is £18.99 really well spent on great quality wine!
Tasting Notes/Products Information
Pithos is Cerasuolo (type of red wine made from Nero d'Avola and Frappato) fermented in Giare which are terracotta amphorae (250L and 400L). The identity of the Frappato is marked on the nose with exhuberant expression of violets and raspberry blossom. The mouth is floral, warm and supple, the berry fruit flavours complemented by soft tannins.
