Chase is a family run distillery located 30 miles north west of Cheltenham in the heart of Herefordshire countryside, founded by William Chase the man behind Tyrells Crisps. The distillery is a converted retro-style hop kiln building. The very first bottle of Chase vodka was produced in May 2008 and took two years in the making. Each handsigned and batch numbered bottle is a true labour of love, using traditional methods to produce a truly artisan vodka. The distillery has recently developed a whole range of new products including a limited edition marmalade vodka (“it’s not ‘flavoured’ we literally distill it in marmalade” said Baxter), smoked vodka, a range of vodka-distilled fresh fruit liqueurs, an Apple Vodka (Naked Chase) made from organic cider apples grown on Chase’s estate in Herefordshire and a gin from the apple vodka base. Chase potato vodka is made from Hereford potatoes including Maris Piper, Lady Rosetta and Lady Claire varieties and is distilled on the farm by James Baxter, who uses a custom-made copper still and five distillations. Chase Vodka has been awarded the WORLD’S Best Vodka with a Double Gold Medal in THE most respected spirits awards, in San Francisco, which is a huge accolade for Chase. The English potato vodka was voted top out of 115 vodkas worldwide, which included larger mass produced companies from Russia, Poland, Scandinavia and the USA. |
