Gravitas is the labour of 5th generation NZ family of New Zealanders who have lived in a number of countries around the world before returning to New Zealand. The children, Martyn was born and raised in India (attending a school 7,000 feet up in the Himalayan mountains!), Pam was born in New Zealand, Garth and Bryony in the Philippines and Hugo in England. The land they own is approximately 40 hectares (100 acres) of vineyards located in Marlborough. They have also put a suite of top-end luxury gourmet foods together - under the umbrella name, "Five Pieces of Heaven". Apart from wine, they are Black Perigord Truffles, Ultra Premium Olive Oil (rated the world's top olive oil in 2004) and Organic Salmon.
