  1. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc Review by (Antonio Galloni - Wine Advocate - Aug 2009) (Posted on 25/07/2011)

The 2007 Guado al Tasso screams of Bolgheri. Sweet grilled herbs, mocha, spices and black cherry jam are woven into a generous, expansive frame. There is a wonderful sense of richness and warmth to the fruit that carries through to the round harmonious finish, where clean, minerally notes add freshness. This is simply gorgeous today, but it is young, and the oak needs to integrate. Still, it is impossible not to admire the 2007 Guado al Tasso. In 2007 Guado al Tasso is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The late ripening Cabernet Franc, used in place of Syrah for the first time in 2007, adds a measure of freshness that had often been missing in previous vintages.

  3. Excellent bouquet Review by John A. (Posted on 05/09/2009)

Excellent bouquet. Antinori never produce bad wine, I suppose. Notes of chocolate, fruits full of berry, oak and bit of spice. Good structure, complex to palate, and good decent length.

  4. Excellent Review by Cora xX. (Posted on 05/09/2009)

Very dark and inky vanilla bacon berries. very lush and polished. chewy, black fruit with liquorice on the finish. polished tannins.

  5. Excellent Review by Nick A. (Posted on 05/09/2009)

A dense ruby with purple highlights, the wine is loaded with aromas and flavors of perfectly ripe blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, minerals, sage, and thyme.
Long finish with a good amount of tannin.

Tasting Notes/Products Information

A fruity nose, with hints of toast, coffee and dark chocolate. Finely structured and complex; balanced, with soft texture and a lingering finish. Displays unmistakable varietal flavor while retaining strong regional character.

Situated in Maremma on the Tuscan coast, 96km southwest of Florence, the Guado al Tasso estate extends from the green hills surrounding the old village of Bolgheri down to the sea. The Guado al Tasso estate is part of the small, prestigious Bolgheri DOC. The area is best known and admired for its outstanding red wines, the so-called SuperTuscans. The estate covers over 1,000 hectares, 300 of which are planted with vineyards.

Love the rhubarb drink.
Review by Geoff (Posted on 27/01/2012)

Love the rhubarb drink. Reminds me of ratafia. Do you think this would work with honey as the sweetener?
